Initiatives.
For more than a decade, we have been enabling children with special needs (mentally and physically challenged) through special education and skills-based training. However, driven by the vision to enable them to discover their true abilities and socialise comfortably, Garia Sathi has been organising various initiatives to sensitise the society at large.
Parent counselling, community awareness camps, showcasing the work of Garia Sathi students and more are just a few steps taken in that direction.

Awareness Camps
We partner with Governmental agencies, social organisations, health bodies and other local bodies to organise Awareness Camps in semi-urban / rural areas to build a more informed and sensitive community.
At these camps, our team of special educators, counselors and psychologist interact with parents and local caregivers to build better understanding of different forms of disabilities, provide guidance on prevention / early detection and special treatment. Health check-ups, and special aids donations often form a part of these camps.

Family Support
We provide counselling and guidance to parents and caregivers of special children.
Our counselors and special educators meet parents regularly to share ongoing progress, provide advise on parental concerns and guide them to manage emotional / social challenges.
Additionally, we encourage parents to participate in annual sports day, picnics and other festivals to get a better understanding of their child’s needs and development. Health and Hygiene workshops are organised to enable them better cater to the special needs of the children.

Product Exhibition
All the products developed by the students during the vocational skills training are showcased and available for sale – either directly through the school, or at various cultural fetes, school exhibitions and others.
These include beaded jewellry, table runners, napkins, trays, cards, paper bags, shoe bags and others.
