Meet our Patrons.

Our institute is primarily funded and supported by individual donors, charity organisations (Rotary clubs, Inner Wheel clubs, Jyotirmaya Foundation), corporate foundations (LIC), the founders of Garia Sathi and many others. We thank each one of our donors who have supported us over the years - and are truly grateful that they are too many to name individually.

However, we would like to introduce you to a few stalwarts whose generous support, leadership and guidance have shaped the vision of Garia Sathi – and continues to fuel the dreams of all the special students.

Patron in Chief

Rtn. Annelie Fabry

A true philanthropic at heart and in action, Rtn Annelie Fabry has been like an ‘angel donor’ for Garia Sathi since her maiden visit in 2009 – not just with her generous contributions, but by advocating our cause, committing time to encourage the special students, and interacting with our special educators to appreciate their challenging work. She was the one who inspired us to dream big and work to establish a permanent institute of our own!

Born in Coesfeld, Germany, Rtn Fabry was a student of publicity, art and ethnology. But the passion to give back to the society led her to work closely with many social causes like women empowerment, disability, and others in Germany and also in India. Today, she is the Member of Indo-German Intercountry Committee, Rotary Germany. Her exemplary work has been recognised time and again with the prestigious awards including Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, Paul Harris Fellow and Margarette Golding Award.

A young and energetic Octogenerian, Rtn Fabry enjoys her free time with her family of 4 children and 9 grandchildren.

Dulal Chattopadhyay

Patron

A civil engineer and LIC advisor, Dulal Chattopadhyay has been one of the stalwarts behind the establishment of Garia Sathi.

Compassionate and kind-hearted, Mr Chattopadhyay wanted to support his close friend’s dream of starting an institute for underprivileged challenged children – and that’s how his association with Garia Sathi began. Since then, he has not only generously contributed to institute’s resources but also directed it as the President for many years.

Mr Chattopadhyay is lover of theatre, art and music, often leveraging these art forms to communicate and enable the students.

Patron

Amor Bhattacharyya

Amor Bhattacharyya, entrepreneur and patent holder, started his career with technology companies after completing his MSEE & MBA degrees from UK. Having worked across UK, Germany, Holland and Switzerland, he joined Xerox in USA. Later in 1980, he launched his entrepreneurial debut in the technology industry. Today, he serves on several company boards in USA and India.

Mr Bhattacharyya has always been highly supportive of social causes, lending a generous hand to NGOs in the areas of education of disadvantaged and differently abled children, and helping battered and abused women.

Hailing from Kolkata, he has been a great support to Garia Sathi and our initiatives.

When not working and enabling noble causes, he enjoys playing Golf, construction, sailing and racing his Porsche.
